I have not tried black & white seriously since 1987 so I feel like I am learning photography all over again.
The biggest challenge so far is choosing shots that work in black & white. I now realize that a lot of my typical photos really don't work as black & white images--the first bunches of photos were just too busy for anything to pop out. The other thing I ran into was: blah tones... particularly when viewing them as small images.
Recent trips to Fort Point and the de Young museum make me feel like I am starting to crack the nut. Got a long way to go but makes me feel like maybe I can figure it out.

Three of these (or maybe two) are growing on me.
